Issue 01 is five essays and a reading order called the prompting path. The essays are about writing the panel before anyone draws it: the grammar of a shot, a face that stays put, the gray you spend on purpose, the blank between panels, and a scene short enough to finish.
Specimens
The blocks set in monospace are for study. Copy one into whatever image tool you already use, then change a single slot and look at what moved. They describe original people and ordinary rooms. They are not a style to collect, and they are not instructions for copying a living author’s characters.
Plates
The pictures were made as plates for this issue: a desk with empty borders, a doorway with room above it, a face used as a lock, a field of printed tone, and two panels with a gutter between them. They are studies for the essays. They are not pages from a book that already exists.
Type
Titles are Shippori Mincho. The text is Newsreader. Specimens, issue marks, and the running labels are IBM Plex Mono. The red circle is a seal — the character inside it is 描, “to draw” — not a product logo.
This copy
The site is a folder of HTML, CSS, and pictures. Open index.html, or serve the folder with any static host. Nothing phones home. If a later issue appears, it will be another set of pages, not a feed.
